Prof. Yu Xueqing Appointed as APSN President, Ushering in a New Era in Academic Leadership

The 45th Annual Meeting of the Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology (APSN) kicked off in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, from June 13 to 15, 2024. During the event, Prof. Yu Xueqing officially assumed the role of President of APSN, marking a significant milestone in his academic journey and heralding a new phase of development for the APSN.

The APSN is a pivotal organization dedicated to advancing nephrology research, continuing education, and clinical practice in the Asia-Pacific region. Its mission is to promote the development of nephrology knowledge, improve the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of kidney diseases in the region, and enhance exchanges and collaboration among nephrology experts across countries within the Asia-Pacific area.

As an internationally renowned nephrologist, Prof. Yu has long been committed to clinical research and treatment of kidney diseases, with profound academic expertise and extensive clinical experience, particularly in the management of chronic kidney disease, glomerular diseases, acute kidney injury, and immune-related kidney diseases. He has delivered numerous keynote speeches at international academic conferences, and his research findings are widely cited by peers around the globe, marking significant contributions to the global advancement of nephrology.

During the handover ceremony, Prof. Yu delivered a speech and introduced the new members of the APSN Standing Committee. He expressed his commitment to fostering academic exchange and collaboration among nephrologists in the region during his tenure as President. He aims to drive innovation and development in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of kidney diseases, ultimately improving the quality of medical care for kidney patients across the Asia-Pacific.
